UNMANNED AERIAL SYSTEMS (UAS) & COUNTER UAS (C-UAS) 2026
Seminar & Exhibition – 15 May 2026, Air Force Auditorium, New Delhi
Unmanned Aerial Systems & Counter UAS Seminar & Exhibition is being organized by the Centre for Aerospace Power & Strategic Studies (CAPSS) and Indian Military Review (IMR) on 15 May 2026 at the Air Force Auditorium, New Delhi.
Objectives
The aim of the event is to:
• Provide a platform for industry military dialogue on UAS and C UAS.
• Showcase cutting edge technologies from Indian and global companies.
• Explore collaborative pathways for indigenisation and joint development.
• Address emerging challenges in drone proliferation, counter drone resilience, and regulatory frameworks.
Impact of Drones on Military Operations
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have become indispensable to modern militaries, reshaping operational doctrines:
• Persistent ISR: Real time surveillance, border monitoring, and target identification enhance situational awareness.
• Precision Engagement: Armed drones deliver surgical strikes, loitering munitions, and SEAD missions with reduced risk to personnel.
• Force Multiplication: Swarm tactics and autonomous operations enable saturation attacks and decoy strategies.
• Multi Domain Integration: UAVs support logistics, communications relay, EW, SAR, maritime patrol, and NBC defence.
• Psychological Impact: Persistent drone presence influences adversary morale and decision making.
For industry, this translates into demand for advanced sensors, AI algorithms, secure communications, resilient platforms, and modular payloads.
Scope of Employment of UAVs
The seminar will highlight the diverse military applications of drones, including ISR, precision strikes, logistics, EW, training, SAR, PsyOps, maritime operations, swarm tactics, NBC defence, and communications relay.
Countermeasures and C UAS Weapons
The proliferation of drones has created urgent requirements for counter drone technologies. Industry participation is vital in developing layered defence solutions:
• Detection & Tracking: Radar, EO/IR sensors, acoustic systems, and AI enabled analytics for early warning.
• Electronic Countermeasures: Jamming, spoofing, and cyber tools to neutralise hostile UAVs.
• Kinetic Solutions: Anti drone missiles, guns, nets, and directed energy weapons (lasers, microwaves).
• Integrated Defence: Multi sensor fusion, command and control integration, and protection of critical infrastructure.
• Urban & Battlefield Applications: Tailored solutions for dense environments, military bases, and civilian assets.
Industry can showcase innovations in detection, interception, and neutralisation systems, and explore partnerships with armed forces for deployment and scaling.
Relevance for Industry
Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) are transforming the character of warfare, while Counter UAS (C UAS) technologies are emerging as critical safeguards against asymmetric threats. For industry, this event offers a unique platform to showcase innovations, engage with military decision makers, and explore opportunities in one of the fastest growing defence domains.
• Expanding Market: Global UAS and C UAS markets are projected to grow exponentially, driven by military, homeland security, and dual use applications.
• Operational Demand: Armed forces worldwide are investing in drones for ISR, precision strikes, logistics, and electronic warfare, while simultaneously seeking robust counter drone solutions.
• Innovation Opportunities: AI, sensor fusion, directed energy weapons, and autonomous swarm technologies are opening new avenues for industry collaboration.
• Policy Push: India’s focus on Atmanirbhar Bharat and indigenisation in defence manufacturing makes this sector a priority for investment and partnerships.
Participation in the event will provide:
• Visibility: Present products and solutions to senior military leaders, policymakers, and global experts.
• Networking Opportunities: Engage with defence forces, R&D institutions, and industry peers.
• Business Opportunities: Explore procurement, co development, and export potential in a rapidly expanding sector.
• Thought Leadership: Position your company at the forefront of discussions on future warfare.
